There’s so many reasons to like electric bicycles’ says the Electric Bicycle Network’s Paul Robison.

‘They look and ride just like normal bikes, yet Electric bicycles make you feel like you’re 21 again. And like you just ate all your porridge.

Some reasons why electric bicycles are great:

• Going up hills! Let’s face it hills are never fun unless you’re into pain.
• Minimal running costs (particularly compared to a car; a charge will last about 40 miles on average, as much as 60 miles on the flat, and cost just 5p)
• Fitness (even with electric assist, you have to pedal; as with all health ‘regimes’ they only work if you do them and people tend to ride their electric bikes because it’s fun)
